Studio Doa is a Nairobi- and London-based design label founded by Katie Robertson-Macleod, working across jewellery and objects with a sculptural approach. Since its inception in 2019, the brand has explored the relationship between material, form, and trace—creating pieces that emphasise process as much as outcome.
Jewellery sits at the core of the practice, with designs shaped through an intuitive engagement with material. Recycled metals are often used, allowing each piece to carry subtle irregularities that reflect its making. Production takes place between Kenya and the UK, drawing on different craft contexts while maintaining a consistent design language.
Studio Doa’s work extends into collaborative projects, partnering with local artisans and artists to develop textiles and materials that expand the brand’s scope. These collaborations ground the practice in exchange—linking contemporary design with regional knowledge and technique.
Rather than prioritising finish alone, the brand focuses on the marks left behind in the making process—texture, movement, and form as a record of interaction.
