  • Insider Notes

    • Baggy pants are here to stay, and this bold patchwork-effect iteration from the joint capsule collection by THIS IS US™ and IAMISIGO is a true statement piece. Designed and crafted in Nigeria, the unique construction combines traditional Funtua cotton with natural indigo dyes. Note the exposed seams and artfully frayed edges: a subtle yet sophisticated point of difference. Styling-wise, keep it simple with a chunky sweater or a crisp white shirt.

      - Elastic waistband, drawstring closure, side pockets, exposed seams
      - Funtua cotton
      - Crafted using locally grown cotton and natural indigo dyes sourced from the Kano dye pits in Kofar Mata, reviving Nigeria’s age-old traditions

THIS IS US™

Founded in 2016 by Oroma Cookey-Gam and Osione Itegboje, THIS IS US™ was born out of a desire to rediscover local materials, heritage crafts, and design codes and to transform them into cool, functional fashion and lifestyle objects. Based in Nigeria, the homegrown brand uses locally grown cotton, known as Funtua, and natural indigo dyes from the centuries-old Kano dye pits, to create their unisex lineup of elevated everyday pieces. The label’s unique aesthetic fuses heritage craft with a distinctive, alternative edge: think reworked proportions, cropped cuts, and bold color-blocking.
