Iloni is a South African jewellery and accessories brand founded by Madri van Zyl, centred on material exploration and considered design. Working from a studio in Stellenbosch, the brand produces small-scale collections that balance playfulness with precision, creating pieces that are both expressive and wearable.
The practice is rooted in process. Materials such as brass and recycled rubber are reworked through an iterative design approach, allowing each piece to evolve through making. Production takes place locally, with an emphasis on durability and adaptability—jewellery that can be reshaped, repaired, and worn over time rather than replaced.
Iloni’s approach to sustainability is embedded in its methods rather than positioned as an add-on. From minimising plastic use to repurposing offcuts and encouraging customers to rework existing pieces, the brand prioritises longevity and circular thinking within its design system.
With a focus on simplicity, tactility, and quiet distinction, Iloni creates objects that sit comfortably within everyday life while retaining a sense of individuality.
