    • "I'm just mad about saffron"—is what you'll be singing when wearing the hand-dyed and hand-painted Barah Jumpsuit in mellow yellow from Nairobi-based brand Kiko Romeo. The slouchy, utilitarian style of these overalls have become a fast favorite for fans of the brand. It has concealed buttons, and adjustable internal elastic so you can cinch at the waist for a feminine silhouette. The fabric is made with handwoven cotton by Pendeza Weaving Project, a mentoring organization in Kisumu, Kenya, that champions rural women to become involved with sustainable social enterprise through handmade crafts.

Led by mother-daughter design duo Ann and Iona McCreath, the label offers sustainable,  contemporary designs crafted by local artisans using traditional hand-dyeing techniques. At the heart of the brand is a nod to Kenyan culture, which can be noted in the brand’s quirky details that pay tribute to the country’s art and music scene.
